Pei Wei sought the public relations services of TJA to concept and promote a hunger-awareness campaign to combat food insecurity locally, as well as develop key community partnerships. TJA recommended that Pei Wei partner with the world’s first food bank, Phoenix-based St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, as the title sponsor of the organization’s “30 Ways in 30 Days” hunger awareness campaign. As part of its sponsorship, Pei Wei funded one meal for every Kids Wei meal sold during the month of September, which TJA identified as National Hunger Action Month. To create a visual opportunity for TV media coverage, TJA also facilitated a partnership with a local Title-I elementary school in Phoenix for Pei Wei to donate 600+ meals to students on “Go Orange Day” to kick off Hunger Action Month, which resulted in coverage on all major Phoenix TV stations.
