Mountain Shadows is a $100 million resort in Paradise Valley, Arizona that was unveiled in April 2017. The original Mountain Shadows opened in 1959 and soon became synonymous with Southwest luxury. Completely rebuilt on the same property, the new Mountain Shadows is stylish, sleek and modern, while paying homage to its iconic namesake. Mountain Shadows selected The James Agency (TJA) as its agency of record to create the new resort’s brand identity and generate buzz surrounding its opening.
TJA developed Mountain Shadows’ new image from the ground up, translating the resort’s modern design, breathtaking atmosphere and unique history into an elegant brand identity and a series of diverse, captivating creative executions. TJA then spread the word that the Paradise Valley landmark was back through targeted advertising, public relations, social media and strategic influencer partnerships.
